Sunday Picnic

Yesterday we went on a sunday afternoon picnic with my parents. We went for a nice walk down Dimple Dell Canyon just behind their house. It was so pretty and the temperature was perfect! The kids had a blast and got good and dirty (it's guaranteed fun when you can play in the water and get dirty, right?) There was a stream right next to the picnic area and they could've been there all day if I let them throwing rocks into the freezing water. We passed this dog along the way and the kids thought it was the funniest thing. I was quite amused myself. Zoe walked, or should I say ran, the whole way there and back which surprised me. Usually she wants to be pushed in the stroller or carried if it is too far or strenuous. She was having such a good time walking little Odie (her cousin's little dog) that I think she could of walked until the dog dropped!Max however, preferred to chill on Papa's shoulders the whole time. He had his Papa (who he adores), the great outdoors, and his sippy cup-what more could he want?

We had a great day, the only thing that would have made it better is if Dan could have joined us. He was home studying:( We'll have to do round two with him soon!

The best part about baking with mom is...............

licking the beaters of course!

Crab.......Yummm!!!!!!!!!!!

Last time we went grocery shopping Zoe requested fish. She really hasn't eaten alot of seafood in the past because Dan doesn't like it and I didn't figure the kids would really like it either and I dont' want to cook if just for me. I usually get my seafood intake when we eat out or at my parents house. But Zoe was craving fish apparently. Well when we got to the grocery store and went to pick out which fish to get she spotted the King Crab Legs and was sold. Of course it is the most expensive seafood in the box and that is what she wanted. (She takes after her momma, I have expensive taste which is really not a good thing, especially on a student budget.) She has had crab once before at my parents house and she actually liked it and obviously remembered how yummy and exciting it was to eat. We didn't want her to get used to the idea of having crab on a regular basis because $13 a lb. is too expensive to eat very often. So we told her she could get it for her special birthday dinner. She was so excited and carried her crab leg around the store while we finished our shopping. Well the girl downed the whole pound of crab all by herself. It was so cute though because everytime she took a bite she would close her eyes and say mmmm. She totally savored every piece and thought it was the best treat ever. What have we done?

I'm on the Band Wagon

After much pressure, I have finally given in and created a blog. I have been checking out my friends and families blogs on a regular basis and am finally convinced that it is a great way to journal our lives for everlasting memories. It is also a great way to keep in touch with friends and family from afar. So enjoy and I will try to keep it updated and exciting!
